Apprentice Engineer on SOLIDWORKS Course

This week our apprentice engineer, Aidan Smith has been away from the factory, and has instead been over in Rotherham at the AMP Technology Centre. This is because he has been on a SOLIDWORKS course, courtesy of New Technology CADCAM (NT CADCAM), who specialise in training individuals to use SOLIDWORKS.

Currently studying one day a week at Derwent Training in Malton, Aidan has passed his first year with flying colours and done exceptionally, with the SOLIDWORKS course only enhancing his learning further. This is more evident as there is a difference in the software used by the two organisations, meaning Aidan will be best equipped to make choices on software to use at MPL in the years to come, in regards to mould making and engineering.

Aidan has spoken of his first week in Rotherham as a; “great experience” and that he believes what he is learning will make him more efficient in terms of know how and speed to in mould tool design.

Aidan will be off back to Rotherham next week to finish the course and will surely come back with more knowledge to benefit his own learning and ML’s continued growth and success. We would also like to thank NT CADCAM for their service as Aidan has clearly enjoyed his experience thus far and already expressing the wealth of knowledge he has gained.
